EU TRANSITION SUPPORT

The UK left the EU on 31st December and from 1 January 2021 new rules apply, as a business what do you need to know? Don’t be afraid of the change just be prepared, there is plenty of information out there to help you along with guidance from experts.

We have compiled a list of useful information that is on offer to both established and start-up businesses, this will be available on our website so you can always access this signposting easily.

SME BREXIT SUPPORT FUND

HMRC can provide grants to support the costs of training and/or professional advice. We understand that each organisation will have different needs. Traders can therefore apply for up to £2,000 in funding across one or more grants but must meet the eligibility criteria. Please see here for the full eligibility criteria.

Grants for training

  1. How to complete customs declarations
  2. How to manage customs processes and use customs software and systems
  3. Specific import and export related aspects including VAT, excise and rules of origin

Here you will find a checker tool that will help you identify the actions that your business needs to take. This tool will take you through a series of questions and provide information you need to be aware of. You can also sign up for webinars, youtube videos and online guidance.

GREAT.GOV.UK

Great.gov.uk has a huge resource of information helping you with export plans, routes to markets, export finance, creating a business profile, finding online markets and much more. You can also contact an international trade adviser who are on hand to help you navigate through any barriers you may come up against.
