GB MET has launched ‘Kick Start 1,000’ to address the adverse economic impact of Covid-19 Head-On! With the Covid-19 pandemic causing a crisis that has impacted on both lives and livelihoods, ‘Kick Start 1,000’ is GB MET’s pledge to fully support our local, unemployed and insecure workforce.

Our goal is to Kick Start the careers of 1,000 jobseekers, students/graduates and the currently employed looking for a change in career direction. GBMET is here to help and support - our Kick Start programmes are created to guide jobseekers on every step of their journey along a career pathway we’re as passionate about as they are.

GB MET is the ideal place to Kick Start employment prospects: developing skills, knowledge and expertise - providing the confidence to stand out in the job market – helping achieve industry-recognised qualifications, assistance with CVs, applications, interviews and access to a job matching service linking directly to local employers.

‘Kick Start 1,000’ provides programmes of varying duration that lead to qualifications, progression to further learning or jobs and varied pathways for career advancement.

GB MET will provide the courses, resources and tools to Kick Start Careers. To qualify for these programmes learners must be aged 19+, looking to get back to work, seeking a change of career, looking for an apprenticeship or to acquire new skills, unemployed or claiming JSA/ESA.
