The Ardéche Challenge: 13th to 16th May 2022

Trek and kayak the stunning Ardéche in May 2022 as part of a once in a lifetime ultra-challenge in support of Guild Care!

Choose from two routes designed to ensure the challenge is suitable for every level of fitness. The first, more challenging ‘Double Marathon’ route includes a marathon distance trek along the side of the stunning Gorge followed next day by an exhilarating 42km kayak down the undulating river – this is one for those wanting a real challenge. The ‘Marathon’ route is a little easier, comprising of a 12km trek and 30km kayak.

Costs and sponsorship

To join, we are asking for a deposit of £150 and a minimum raised sponsorship of £600. The deposit will be refunded on receipt of sponsorship - or it can be counted as part of the sponsorship.

Travel

Travel costs are not included in the down payment and you will be expected to make your own way to the Ardèche.

What the Ardéche Challenge looks like

Friday

If you decide to travel with the group, you will be collected by minibus and driven to base. Alternatively, you can make your own way to the base.

At the base there will be a brief about the upcoming challenges, as well as opportunities to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Finally, there will be dinner, the bar, and a night’s rest in a bell tent.

Saturday

You will complete either a marathon distance or 12km trek through the stunning Ardéche.

Sunday

Double marathon participants will be transported to the start of their 42km kayak, whilst Marathon participants will begin their 30km kayak from the base. After a day on the water, there will be evening celebrations and surprises.

Monday

Following the above challenges, you will have a day of rest and recovery, with the option of visiting the local town.

Finally, there will be lunch and then the trip back to the airport.
