Shape the Future Skills System – Employer Workshops Coming This January

The Sussex Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) is inviting employers to play a vital role in shaping the future skills landscape for our region. This January, a series of Employer Engagement Workshops will take place across Sussex, bringing together businesses, sector bodies, and networks to influence the next LSIP for 2026–2029.

These workshops are designed to capture real-world insight from employers on the skills needed now and those critical for the years ahead. Your input will help ensure training provision and qualifications remain relevant, employer-led, and aligned with genuine workforce demand.

• Networking Opportunities: Connect with peers, partners, and stakeholders from your sector.

Since its launch, the Sussex LSIP has already made a difference by:

• Shaping new and updated training provision based on local workforce needs.
• Supporting flexible, modular training in key areas such as digital, construction, manufacturing, and green skills.
• Strengthening collaboration between employers and providers to deliver industry-led curricula.
• Improving talent pipelines and supporting recruitment and workforce development.

When and How to Get Involved

Workshops start 13 January 2026 and run throughout the month. Each session is tailored to a specific sector, with an additional cross-sector workshop for businesses operating across multiple industries.
