Business & Education Partnership

We have an amazing array of schools, education settings and alternative learning providers in Worthing and Adur who are busy educating and developing the young people who may well become part of your work force.

There are great opportunities all year round for you and your business to have a presence in these settings by volunteering your time, giving talks, attending careers fairs and offering work experience. Register your interest to get involved with local providers here.

How can you get involved?

Host a trainee on work experience with the SAND Project

Partner with the SAND Project to offer a supported work experience placement to one of their trainees. SAND connect local businesses with young talent—building confidence, independence and real-world skills through meaningful workplace experience—while giving your team an extra pair of hands and a fresh perspective.

· SAND handle the admin: from matching and objectives to paperwork—so you can focus on running your business.

· Risk assessments covered: the SAND Project support you with the practicalities to make hosting straightforward.

· Job-coach support on-site: a job coach can accompany the trainee each day to help them (and you) get the best from the placement.

· Tailored, flexible placements: we recommend 1 day a week for a minimum of a month, but can adapt to what works for you.

· Alternative option: if a regular placement isn’t feasible, SAND can arrange a one-day visit with a small group of trainees so you can showcase your business and inspire young people.

· Proven with local employers: The SAND Project partnered with a range of businesses—from retail and hospitality to printing and theatre—so they'll help shape a placement that fits your workplace.
