On 3rd April Adur & Worthing Councils were informed of a white-ish solidified substance being washed up along local beaches.
The Council immediately arranged for the substance to be tested to confirm what it was, and a clean up and dispersal campaign was undertaken.
It has now been been confirmed that the substance is a waxy mineral oil.
Although the clean up process is complete, Adur & Worthing Councils continue to ask the public to remain vigilant and to contact them should they notice this substance coming ashore again.
This waxy mineral oil is not hazardous to people or animals unless it is digested.
