Could a young person from Sussex Bay help shape the future of climate and nature?

The UK Government is creating its first Youth Climate and Nature Panel, bringing together 15 young people. The panel will ultimately include people aged 16 to 25, but the first application round is specifically for 16 to 18 year olds. 

Sussex Bay would love to see young people from across Sussex Bay taking their voices to the national stage. Find out more and apply here, with applications closing on Friday 11 September 2026.

Over the past year, we have been working with young people across the region to explore how younger voices can play a bigger part in shaping the future of our coast, while connecting young people with skills, employers, real world projects and future opportunities.

The new Youth Climate and Nature Panel is another exciting opportunity for young people to make their voices heard. Panel members will share their ideas and experiences with government, provide insight on climate and nature policy and help strengthen the role of young people in decisions about our future.

It reflects something we believe strongly at Sussex Bay: young people should not simply inherit the decisions we make about our natural world. They should have meaningful opportunities to help shape them.
