From Hall to Castle in aid of Sussex youth charity

On one of the hottest days of the year, a group of staff from PJCO Accountants swapped spreadsheets for walking boots and hiked a 15 mile route from their offices at St James Hall in Lancing to Arundel Castle, all to raise over £2,600 for Esteem, a youth charity based in Shoreham-by-Sea.

The directors at PJCO believe that teamwork doesn’t stop at the office door. They wanted a way to bring the staff team together in support of a shared goal and chose to organise the walk in aid of a charity close to their hearts.

Esteem creates spaces where everyone matters. The charity works with young adults aged 14-26 from all walks of life across Sussex to build lasting self-esteem and stronger communities through group activities, mentoring and 1-2-1 support.

PJCO CEO and founder Peter Jarman said: “It took us around six hours to reach our destination, and the whole team completed the walk together. It was a fantastic day with lots of laughs and a great sense of achievement when we finally reached the castle. 

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported us. Your generosity will help Esteem continue their fantastic work supporting young people across Sussex, helping them build confidence, improve their wellbeing and reach their full potential.”
