Home & Company Encourages Businesses to Become Dementia Friends

Home & Company is encouraging local businesses and organisations to learn more about dementia and consider becoming Dementia Friends through a free initiative run by the Alzheimer's Society.
According to the BBC, around one million people in the UK are currently living with dementia, with that number expected to rise as the population ages. While awareness and understanding of the condition have improved significantly in recent years, there is still more that can be done to support those affected and reduce stigma.
The Alzheimer's Society's Dementia Friends programme aims to increase understanding of dementia and inspire people to make a positive difference in their communities. The initiative offers free, interactive webinars led by volunteer Dementia Friends Ambassadors, giving participants a greater understanding of what it is like to live with dementia and how small actions can make a meaningful impact.
The online sessions last around 60 minutes and are open to individuals, businesses and organisations interested in becoming more dementia aware. Find out more and book onto a session here
As a care provider supporting many people living with dementia, Home & Company understands the importance of improving awareness and helping communities become more inclusive and supportive.
