Expansion plans update from the Site Leadership and Project Team at GSK

Date: Friday 28th February
Venue: TGSK Southdownview Way, Worthing

GSK are proposing to undertake a major investment at the site in Worthing over the next 18 months.

This investment of £100mn will deliver a new production facility for the manufacture of the sterile, injectable form of Augmentin™, the main brand produced at the Worthing site. The project is in the final design stage with planning permission due to be submitted very soon. It is anticipated that there will an average of 150 jobs during the construction phase.

The objective of the upcoming breakfast meeting is to give chamber members the opportunity to better understand the GSK business at Worthing and also the proposed new investment.

Members of the Site Leadership and Project Team will be in attendance to discuss the approach to the project and what opportunities this may lead to in the local economy. Currently procurement strategy is being defined but opportunities for local business in the supply of materials, potential sub contract activity and accommodation for visiting project team members are likely to exist.
