Worthing awarded two Green Flag awards as Highdown Gardens and Field Place are named amongst the best in Britain

Worthing's Highdown Gardens and Field Place are amongst more parks and green spaces than ever flying the Green Flag Award this year – more than 1,600 across the UK.

Highdown Gardens and Field Place are among a record-breaking 1,686 parks and green spaces that have been awarded a prestigious Green Flag Award – the mark of a quality park or green space.

The award, now celebrating its 20^th year, recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country. A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.

Councillor Clive Roberts, Executive Member for Environment Worthing Borough Councils adds “We are absolutely delighted to receive not one but two Green Flag Awards in Worthing this year.  Highdown Gardens enjoys its 11th consecutive Green Flag award and Field Place its second.  These awards recognise  the dedicated teams we have in our Parks department, whose energy, skill and passion makes the spaces they nurture, rain and shine, the very deserving national award winners they are."
